The technique
varies according to which version of Windows, and which version of which
application is being used. These charts are for the word processor and
email applications currently in most common use by UoB staff and students.

recent keyboards should allow direct entry of: á, é, í, ó, ú (and Á,
É, Í, Ó, Ú) by: Alt Gr + vowel or Ctrl + Alt + vowel;
this does not appear to work in Outlook/Exchange

in some
versions of Outlook/Exchange the 3 digit codes do not appear to work
for: Á, Í, Ó, Ú; use the 4 digit codes instead

applications may need numlock to be enabled for some of these
codes to work
